Maynilad Water Interruption Hits Metro Manila, Cavite After Pipe Damage
Parts of Metro Manila and Cavite experienced Maynilad water service interruptions after a 750-mm pipeline in Ermita, Manila was damaged.
Maynilad customers in parts of Metro Manila and Cavite dealt with water service interruptions after a 750-millimeter pipeline in Ermita, Manila was damaged over the weekend.
According to GMA News, Maynilad said the affected pipeline is located along Antonio Villegas Street corner Natividad Lopez Street. The company said it was accidentally damaged by a contractor of the Manila City Government.
Emergency repairs were started after the incident, but the Manila Public Information Office said several affected areas in Manila were expected to experience water interruption from 9 p.m. on May 24 until 3 p.m. on May 25.
The affected Manila areas included a long list of barangays, while Maynilad also said parts of Parañaque, Las Piñas and Pasay would experience interruptions until Monday evening. Some areas in Bacoor, Cavite City, Noveleta, Kawit and Rosario in Cavite were also expected to have temporary water service interruptions.
Some barangays in Las Piñas and Imus, Cavite may continue experiencing interruptions until early Tuesday morning. Maynilad said mobile water tankers would be deployed to affected communities if needed while service is gradually restored after repair completion and pressure normalization. Source: GMA News Online
