Good news para sa Tumblr fans — the blogging platform is officially accessible again in the Philippines after the government moved to restore access following a brief but dramatic block that had users panicking.

Tumblr announced the restoration on X (formerly Twitter), saying the Philippine government had officially moved to unblock the site. "Huge news! The Republic of the Philippines has officially moved to restore access to Tumblr," the platform posted, adding that users should regain access immediately or in the very near future.

The platform credited its users for making it happen, noting that a "surge of reports" from Filipino users prompted the government to act. Tumblr even celebrated with a cheeky closing line: "In other words, y'all really did that. In closing: we are so back!"

The unblocking comes just a day after Tumblr confirmed that users in the Philippines were experiencing access issues. The Cybercrime Investigation and Coordinating Center (CICC) also released a statement saying the "alleged blocking of Tumblr" was being reviewed with priority.

It remains unclear why Tumblr was blocked in the first place, though some speculated it may have been caught in content filtering measures. Tumblr, founded in 2007, remains a beloved platform for Filipino creatives, fan communities, and internet culture enthusiasts.
