Veteran Actress Odette Khan Is Awake and Fighting — Condition Improving After Hospitalization

Good news for fans of veteran actress Odette Khan: she's awake, eating, and fighting. Director Kip Oebenda, who helmed Bar Boys, shared the encouraging update on his Instagram Stories on Thursday.

Oebenda said Khan's condition has significantly improved since she was hospitalized in late February for pneumonia and respiratory complications. The director revealed that a specialist has confirmed her lungs no longer need to be drained — a clear sign of recovery.

"She is fighting with us. Thank you to everyone who has helped," Oebenda wrote, adding that he's deeply touched by the outpouring of support from the entertainment industry and fans alike.

The director also took a moment to honor Khan's legacy, calling her "one of the silent pillars of our industry." With 50 years in showbiz, the veteran actress is beloved for her powerful antagonist roles and her quiet, dignified approach to her craft.

"She never chased fame or validation — just quiet, dignified and high-quality work over the years," Oebenda wrote. Khan last appeared on screen as Justice Hernandez in Bar Boys: After School, proving that even after five decades, her talent remains as sharp as ever.
