Trisha Tubu Goes Beast Mode! Farm Fresh Survives Five-Set War vs Choco Mucho
The PVL All-Filipino Conference just served up another instant classic, and Farm Fresh came out on top in the most dramatic way possible — beating Choco Mucho in five grueling sets, 21-25, 25-22, 16-25, 25-18, 15-9 at the Filoil Centre in San Juan City.
Trisha Tubu was the star of the night with a massive 22-point performance built on 16 attacks and six blocks, including two clutch blocks in the deciding fifth set. But the real kwento here is Royse Tubino, who came off the bench to haunt her former team. Tubino scored 14 points against the Flying Titans squad she spent nearly two years with — talk about revenge game!
This was Farm Fresh's third straight five-setter, but this time they finally broke the curse. After heartbreaking five-set losses to Capital1 and PLDT, the Foxies dug deep when it mattered most, dominating the fifth set 15-9. "We need more strong teamwork and not just skill," said head coach Koji Tsuzurabara. "Today was a good step. I hope to make the next step."
Ces Molina was everywhere, recording a triple-double with 17 points, 13 digs, and 13 receptions. Setter Alohi Robins-Hardy also distributed the ball beautifully with 22 excellent sets. With the win, Farm Fresh improved to 3-4 and kept their qualifying round hopes very much alive.
For Choco Mucho, back-to-back 22-point outings from Sisi Rondina and Kat Tolentino went to waste. Eya Laure added 15 off the bench, but it wasn't enough as the Flying Titans saw their two-game win streak snapped. Sayang naman!
