Tesda's New 'Juana Creatives' Hub Wants to Turn Talent Into Kita
Tesda has launched 'Juana Creatives,' a new co-working hub meant to help women and aspiring creatives sharpen their skills and build income opportunities in the creative sector. The facility was launched on March 30 and is positioned as a space where training, enterprise support, and artificial intelligence awareness can come together.
Tesda Secretary Jose Francisco Benitez said the initiative expands technical-vocational education into the creative and cultural industries. He also said the setup makes learning more accessible for Filipinos who want to study creative skills outside the usual workday, with classes and workshops scheduled even on evenings and weekends.
Benitez framed the project as a way to future-proof livelihoods while AI keeps reshaping jobs. His point was that craft, design, storytelling, and cultural expression still rely heavily on human creativity, so these are the kinds of skills that can stay valuable kahit mabilis ang tech changes.
The hub will offer short, industry-led programs in pottery and ceramics, scent-making, leather craft, pattern-making and fashion, gemstone and jewelry work, photography, videography, film production, digital embroidery, and animation. Tesda said the space is designed for freelancers, hobbyists, cultural workers, and creative entrepreneurs who want practical, hands-on training.
Although the launch was tied to Women’s Month, Tesda said the facility is open to learners of all genders. The bigger pitch here is not just art for art’s sake, but helping more Filipinos build durable creative skills that can translate into work, business, and side-hustle potential.
