Sandara Park Breaks Silence on Park Bom's Drug Use Claims: 'I Have Never Used Drugs'
Former 2NE1 member Sandara Park has fired back at fellow group mate Park Bom's explosive allegations, flatly denying that she ever used illegal substances. The K-pop star — who remains hugely popular in the Philippines — issued a brief but firm statement on Instagram Stories on Wednesday: "I have never used drugs. I wish her well."
The drama started when Bom posted a handwritten note on social media claiming she had been unfairly labeled a "drug addict" to divert public attention away from another 2NE1 member's alleged drug issue. According to reports from The Korea Herald, Bom implied that she was used as a scapegoat to cover up a controversy involving Sandara.
In her handwritten message, Bom also called out YG Entertainment founder Yang Hyun Suk, The Black Label founder Teddy Park, and fellow 2NE1 member CL, asking them to stop spreading claims that she used more than the prescribed amount of medication. It was a rare public airing of grievances from the singer who has kept a relatively low profile in recent years.
However, a close associate of Bom disputed her account, telling Korean media that the post appeared to stem from an "unstable condition." Bom is currently on an indefinite hiatus due to health concerns, and she has been previously criticized for making unverified claims about other celebrities.
The controversy traces back to 2010 when Bom was investigated for importing Adderall — a prescription ADHD medication classified as a regulated substance containing amphetamine — from the US to South Korea. She eventually received a suspension of indictment after submitting medical records. For Filipino fans who grew up watching Sandara on local TV before her K-pop career, the allegations have been a shocking development.
