Richard Gutierrez Gets Real on Co-Parenting, Action Pain, and Dad Mode
Richard Gutierrez is fully in his action-star era, but sabi niya, hindi biro ang physical toll. In an interview with Philstar.com, the actor said his latest project 'Blood vs. Duty' has meant long taping days, sleepless nights, and plenty of body pain after one action-heavy role after another.
He said the grind comes after back-to-back stints in big action titles like 'The Iron Heart' and 'Incognito.' Richard admitted that while he used to do all of his own stunts, these days he now does most of them — a more practical move as the work gets tougher and the responsibilities get bigger.
Off camera, ibang role naman ang priority: being a dad. Richard shared that he tries to line up activities for his sons Zion and Kai, including sports like basketball and boxing, while still keeping academics front and center. Yes, may iPad time din, but he made it clear that balance matters at home.
He also opened up about co-parenting, saying things are going smoothly and that he and the kids’ mom have equal time with their children. Richard added that his eldest has become curious about acting and filmmaking after watching both his projects and old films of Eddie Gutierrez, though he is in no rush to push the boys into showbiz.
Richard said he is simply embracing this chapter of his life, with all the pressure, work, and expectations that come with it. He also tied that mindset to his endorsement work, saying responsible gaming should stay part of the conversation now that digital platforms are just one tap away.
