Public School Teacher Patay sa Ambush sa Pangasinan — Riding-in-Tandem Suspects Hinahanap Pa
A 53-year-old public school teacher was gunned down in broad daylight by two suspects on a motorcycle in Rosales, Pangasinan on Wednesday, March 11. The victim, identified only as Jun, was riding his own motorcycle on his way home from Santa Maria when the gunmen suddenly appeared and opened fire.
Police Captain Eugene Romma Navalta, deputy chief of police of Rosales, confirmed the incident. The victim was rushed to a nearby hospital but was declared dead on arrival. Investigators recovered empty .45 caliber shells and slugs at the crime scene, suggesting the attackers used a high-caliber firearm.
The Pangasinan killing was not an isolated case that week. Just a day later, on March 12, a 38-year-old tricycle driver named Armando was found dead with bullet wounds in his chest in Barangay Nungnungan 2, Cauayan City, Isabela. Authorities initially responded to reports of a vehicular accident, only to discover it was another shooting. Five empty shell casings were recovered at that scene.
Both incidents have sparked alarm in their respective communities. A public school teacher being targeted in a riding-in-tandem style killing is particularly disturbing — it raises questions about whether the motive was personal, or kung may deeper na reason behind the attack.
Follow-up investigations and pursuit operations are ongoing for both cases. Authorities have yet to identify the suspects or establish a clear motive. Anyone with information is urged to contact their local police station.
