Plot Twist: Robredo Supporter Ogie Diaz Says He Might Vote for Sara Duterte in 2028 — But With Receipts
Well, this is unexpected. Showbiz insider and content creator Ogie Diaz — a known supporter of former VP Leni Robredo during the 2022 elections — just dropped a bombshell: he might actually vote for Sara Duterte in 2028. But before Kakampinks start unfollowing him, there's a very big BUT attached to that statement.
Diaz shared that a DDS friend told him to switch loyalties, saying Sara was unbeatable. His response was surprisingly measured: "Alam ko namang malakas si VP Sara. Pag mahina kalaban niyan, panalo yan. Pag marami siyang makakalaban, panalo pa rin siya." He acknowledged Duterte's political strength — but said his vote would depend on transparency.
Specifically, Diaz wants Sara to publicly address the controversies surrounding her — the confidential funds, the "Mary Jane Piattos" issue, corruption allegations at DepEd, and other concerns. "Kung mailalatag naman ni Sara nang maayos ang kanyang mga pruweba at may totoong datos," he wrote, "baka iboto ko siya." He also wants to see OVP accomplishments backed by actual data.
The showbiz commentator drew a comparison to Robredo's vice presidency, noting that even Duterte supporters never accused Robredo of corruption because she was transparent with her budget. He challenged Sara to show the same level of accountability: "Parang nung VP si Ma'am Leni, kahit ang DDS, hindi pinaratangang corrupt si Ma'am Leni, di ba?"
Diaz also called on ALL 2028 presidential candidates to commit to televised debates — taking a shot at those who might dodge them. "Sana hindi natin marinig yung, 'Ayaw ko nang makipagdebate on national TV,'" he said. He ended with a reminder: "Hindi po anim na araw o buwan ang pinag-uusapan dito.
