Pinay Files Rape Case Against Singaporean She Met Online — 6 Years After the Assault
A 24-year-old Filipina has finally mustered the courage to file a rape complaint against a Singaporean man she met through an online chat platform — six years after the alleged assault took place in Pasay City.
In a sworn statement filed at the Pasay City Prosecutor's Office on March 5, 2026, the complainant identified her alleged attacker as Ricky Ravin Narwani, a Singaporean national who was temporarily in the Philippines from January 24 to 28, 2020. The woman said she was just 18 years old when the incident happened.
According to her affidavit, the two began chatting online in 2019 and eventually moved to voice calls. "As our conversations went on, I became comfortable talking with him and came to trust that he was a good person," she said. She agreed to meet Narwani in January 2020, thinking it would be a casual meetup.
On January 27, 2020, after spending the day together in Makati, Narwani allegedly asked her to go with him to a condo unit in Pasay City under the pretext of checking some belongings. Once inside, she claims he locked the door, restrained her, and forced himself on her despite her resistance.
The woman said shame, fear of being blamed, and emotional trauma kept her from pursuing legal action for years. "It took me years to find the courage to seek justice," she stated. The incident was recorded in a barangay blotter on the same day it happened, and that entry now serves as key supporting evidence in her case.
