Veteran showbiz columnist Cristy Fermin is celebrating a major legal win after a court dismissed the cyber libel case filed against her by actor Dominic Roque. The verdict, signed by Presiding Judge Manuel Gerard C. Tomacruz, was received on February 18, 2026 — and Nanay Cristy wasted no time sharing the good news.

“Anak, nakuha natin ang hustisya, panalo tayo sa kasong libelo na isinampa ni Dominic Roque. Salamat sa Diyos sa paggabay,” Fermin told a friend who works as an entertainment editor. The showbiz talk show host expressed deep gratitude, attributing the outcome to divine guidance.

Roque had filed the cyber libel complaint on May 31, 2024, before the Pasig City Prosecutor’s Office. The case stemmed from allegedly defamatory statements Fermin made during an episode of her YouTube vlog “Showbiz Now Na.” Roque’s camp claimed at the time that the actor’s reputation was hurt and adversely affected by the claims aired on the program.

As of this writing, Roque has not released a public statement regarding the court’s decision. Interestingly, this legal victory comes on the heels of another win for Fermin — actress Bea Alonzo recently withdrew her own separate libel complaint against Fermin and her co-hosts Romel Chika and Wendell Alvarez.

It’s been quite a streak for the veteran columnist, who has been a fixture in Philippine showbiz journalism for decades. With two cases now behind her, Fermin seems more emboldened than ever to keep dishing the chika.
