Malacañang just hit back hard at former Palace spokesman Harry Roque after he claimed on Facebook that President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. attempted to reconcile with Vice President Sara Duterte. The Palace's response? Two words: fake news.

Presidential Communications Office Undersecretary Claire Castro branded Roque's post as "another lie" from the Duterte camp. Roque had cited a "confidential source" for his claim, but Castro wasn't having any of it. "What they should be thinking about now is service over politics," she told reporters.

Things got even spicier when Sara Duterte herself reportedly responded, saying "there is no turning back" and that she has no interest in smoking the peace pipe with her former political ally. The VP made it clear: reconciliation is not on her agenda.

Castro fired back even harder, saying Sara's refusal to negotiate reveals her "true colors." She called the Vice President "no longer helpful" but "destructive," and accused her of "creating her own story to remain relevant." Meanwhile, Castro said the President is too busy serving the people to bother with such drama — unlike others who are "just campaigning."

The Marcos-Duterte alliance, which powered their 2022 election victory, has completely disintegrated. With Sara's father Rodrigo now facing ICC hearings at The Hague and the political landscape shifting ahead of future elections, the chances of these two families patching things up look slim to none. This political teleserye is far from over.
