Netflix Philippines Drops Its Biggest Lineup Yet: BuyBust Series With Anne Curtis, a Horror Show With Janine Gutierrez, and 3 More Originals
Netflix Philippines just dropped its most ambitious content slate ever, and Filipino entertainment fans have a lot to be excited about. To celebrate its 10th anniversary in the country, the streaming giant announced five brand-new Philippine originals — three series and two films — that aim to put Pinoy storytelling on the global map.
The headliner is "BuyBust: The Undesirables," a dystopian action series spinning off from Erik Matti's 2018 hit film. Anne Curtis reprises her iconic role as Nina Manigan, with Gerald Anderson joining the cast. If the original BuyBust's brutal action sequences are any indication, this series is going to be intense. Matti behind the camera plus Curtis doing action? Yes please.
Horror fans won't be left out: "Balaraw" is a horror-mystery drama led by Janine Gutierrez, set on an unexplored island where a family's dark secrets surface in terrifying fashion. For the younger crowd, "18th Rose" is a contemporary YA romance starring Xyriel Manabat and Kyle Echarri that's filling a gap in the local market for fresh teenage love stories.
Rounding out the slate are "Ganito, Ganyan, Ganono," a family drama that dives deep into the beautiful chaos of Filipino family life, and "Paskong Pinoy," a Christmas anthology series featuring Barbie Forteza and Enchong Dee that celebrates local holiday traditions. Because what's more Filipino than Christmas content?
Beyond the originals, Netflix also sealed major deals with GMA for "The Master Cutter" starring Dingdong Dantes and ABS-CBN for "Someone, Someday" with Kathryn Bernardo and James Reid. The 2026 slate is the clearest signal yet that Netflix is serious about the Philippine market. Lagay mo na sa list — this year's lineup is stacked.
