Heartbreak sa Drag Scene: Misua Dies Before ‘Drag Race PH’ Season 4

The local drag community is mourning the loss of Misua, the drag artist who had been set to compete in the fourth season of ‘Drag Race Philippines.’ She was 27.

GMA News reported that World of Wonder and ‘Drag Race Philippines’ announced Misua died in her sleep on the morning of April 2. The joint statement said she brought light, artistry, and joy to the people around her and would be deeply missed.

Because of the sudden loss, production for the upcoming season has been temporarily paused so the cast and crew can be cared for and supported during the difficult moment. The show’s team also said they are in contact with Misua’s family, who requested privacy.

In a separate statement, the family confirmed the passing of their dearly loved son, brother, friend, and mentor. Funeral and wake details, according to the report, will be announced later.

Misua was born Jason Elvie Go Ty on July 5, 1998. Fans have since filled her social media with messages of grief and love, turning her final posts into a space of remembrance and tribute.
