May Kaso Na: Suspect Charged in Slay of Former Miss PH Earth Runner-Up

Police have filed a murder complaint against one suspect in the killing of former Miss Philippines Earth 2013 runner-up Lullete Jane Ramilo de Guzman. In a statement cited by PEP.ph, Police Regional Office 2 said one of the suspects, identified only by the alias 'JayR,' is now under preliminary investigation.

Authorities said the case stemmed from the fatal shooting that happened around 6 p.m. on February 13, 2026 in Barangay Cabaritan, San Manuel, Isabela. Lullete was reportedly inside her vehicle and had just arrived home when she was attacked by two still-unidentified gunmen.

The police said they coordinated closely with the Office of the Provincial Prosecutor in Isabela to strengthen the case, secure evidence, and process the required documents for filing. Provincial police chief PCOL Manuel B. Bringas also said the Isabela police remain committed to delivering justice for the victim’s family.

But for Lullete’s husband, Dr. Clifford dela Cruz, the latest development is not enough. He said they already knew who the suspects were early on and blamed delays on complicated investigative protocols and the protection allegedly being enjoyed by the people behind the crime.

Dela Cruz stressed that identification alone is not justice and said the family will keep fighting until all those responsible, including the alleged masterminds, are brought to court. Si Lullete, who was among the runners-up in Miss Philippines Earth 2013, was killed in a case that continues to draw public attention in Isabela and beyond.
