LTFRB Suspends 3 Ride-Hailing Companies for One Year — They Ignored Show Cause Orders and Now They're Paying the Price
Three ride-hailing companies just got slapped with a one-year suspension by the LTFRB for violating their franchise conditions — and for ignoring the agency's show cause orders like they didn't exist. The companies are Leggo Information Technology Solutions, Get Express Global Corporation, and Ipara Technology and Solutions, Inc.
LTFRB Chairman Vigor Mendoza II said the firms were cited for lacking the active, internet-based digital technology required to support their partners and clients — which is literally the core requirement of a ride-hailing service. Paano ka magiging ride-hailing app kung walang functioning app?
What made things worse was their complete silence. Despite being served separate show cause orders, none of the three companies bothered to submit an explanation within the prescribed period. "This is what happens when you ignore or disregard legal notices from the LTFRB — you will suffer the consequences of your action," Mendoza warned.
The LTFRB has advised commuters and prospective ride-hailing applicants to stop transacting with these three companies while the suspension is in effect. Public advisories have been issued, and the board urged people to verify the regulatory status of service providers before booking rides.
For the millions of Filipinos who rely on ride-hailing apps daily, this is a reminder that not all platforms are created equal. While Grab continues to dominate the market, smaller players come and go — and those that don't follow the rules get shown the door. Mendoza reminded all TNCs to strictly comply with LTFRB regulations to avoid the same fate.
