Liza’s Global Era, Todo Na: ‘Forgotten Island’ Puts More Pinoy Talent on the Map
Liza Soberano
Liza Soberano is clearly having a major global moment, and this one feels extra meaningful for Filipino fans. In a report by GMA Entertainment, the actress said she feels proud and honored to be part of DreamWorks’ upcoming animated film "Forgotten Island," a project that also shines a spotlight on Filipino culture and talent.
Liza shared the excitement on Instagram, posting photos and clips with Filipino-American singer H.E.R. and members of the film team. Her message was simple but loud: she has a lot of love for the people behind the project and sees the movie as something that represents Pinoy creativity on a much bigger stage.
The cast lineup is stacked. Aside from Liza and H.E.R., the film also includes Dolly de Leon, Jo Koy, Amielynn Abellera, Manny Jacinto and Lea Salonga, plus actor Ronny Chieng. That mix gives the project a strong Filipino and Asian presence, which is a big deal for viewers looking for more authentic representation in major international releases.
Universal Pictures has already dropped the official trailer, and GMA said it had pulled in more than three million views as of reporting. The movie is scheduled for release on Sept. 25, 2026, giving fans a clear date to watch as this mythology-inspired animated world reaches the big screen.
For Liza, the project adds another step in her post-local, international career buildout. After making her Hollywood film debut in "Lisa Frankenstein" in 2024, she’s now part of a title that ties global animation with Filipino cultural storytelling. Safe to say, hindi lang ito another casting update — it’s part of a bigger shift in where Pinoy talent is showing up.
