Herlene Goes Full Circle: She’s Now Playing Her Own Mom’s Pain and Sacrifice

Herlene Budol is taking on a deeply personal role this weekend as she portrays the life story of her own mother in Magpakailanman. The episode, titled 'Ang Tanging Ina ni Herlene,' is set to air on Saturday, March 21, and puts the spotlight on the strength and sacrifice behind their family story.

Based on GMA Network’s report, the episode follows Lhen, an aspiring beauty queen whose life became much harder after she got involved with Ibhe, the man who later became Herlene’s father. Instead of a stable family life, Lhen reportedly had to deal with jealousy, joblessness, and repeated heartbreak.

One of the most painful turns in the story came when Herlene was only six years old. Lhen had to leave her behind so she could work and support her children, including three from a previous relationship. That decision left Herlene carrying resentment for years, kahit malinaw na ginawa iyon ng nanay niya para mabuhay ang pamilya.

The story eventually comes full circle when Herlene fulfills her mother’s dream of becoming a beauty queen by winning Binibining Angono. According to the article, that milestone helped heal old wounds between mother and daughter and became a tribute to everything Lhen went through.
