Seven areas across the Philippines are under PAGASA’s “danger” heat index level as brutal summer conditions continue to hit several provinces this Wednesday, May 6.

According to PAGASA’s latest bulletin cited by Philstar.com, heat index values in the listed areas may reach 42°C to 43°C, while Tacloban City in Leyte is forecast to post the highest reading at 45°C.

The areas under the danger level include Bacnotan in La Union, Aparri in Cagayan, Cuyo in Palawan, Virac in Catanduanes, Iloilo City, and La Granja in La Carlota, Negros Occidental.

Most of the country remains under the “extreme caution” classification, with heat index readings ranging from 33°C to 41°C. In Metro Manila, PAGASA Science Garden in Quezon City is forecast at 39°C, while NAIA in Pasay City may reach 41°C.

For Pinoys planning errands, commutes, or outdoor work, the key takeaway is simple: mainit pa rin, and the heat index remains a daily weather story worth watching closely.
