If you live in Metro Manila, Rizal, or Cavite, better start filling those water containers. Both Manila Water and Maynilad announced scheduled water service interruptions this week due to maintenance work and high demand during the dry season.

Manila Water said the interruptions will affect parts of Makati, Manila, Quezon City, Taguig, Pasig, Mandaluyong, San Juan, and Rizal. Residents in these areas should expect reduced water pressure or complete service cuts during specific hours as the concessionaire carries out system maintenance.

On the west side, Maynilad said Muntinlupa, Caloocan, parts of Manila and Quezon City, Valenzuela, and Cavite will also experience service disruptions. The dual announcements mean virtually every corner of Metro Manila could be affected at some point this week.

The interruptions come at a particularly inconvenient time — March marks the start of the peak dry season in the Philippines, when water demand typically surges. Both concessionaires have been dealing with increased consumption as temperatures rise across the metro.

Residents are advised to store enough water for drinking, cooking, and hygiene needs ahead of the scheduled cuts. Both Manila Water and Maynilad have encouraged affected customers to check their respective websites and social media pages for specific schedules and affected barangays in their areas.
