Better fill those drums and stock up on water, mga ka-tabloid. Manila Water and Maynilad announced scheduled water service interruptions hitting several areas across Metro Manila, Rizal, and Cavite this week due to maintenance work and high demand.

On the Manila Water side, parts of Forbes Park Village in Makati City will lose water on March 2-3 between 10 PM and 4 AM for system leak repairs. Brgy. South Triangle in Quezon City gets hit March 3-4 during the same hours for leak detection. In Taguig, portions of Brgy. Comembo and Pembo face cuts March 4-5, while parts of Pasig, Mandaluyong, San Juan, and Manila also have scheduled interruptions throughout the week.

Residents in Rizal won't be spared either — areas in Antipolo, Binangonan, and other towns are also facing water cuts for step-testing and zero-pressure testing activities. In Cavite, Maynilad customers in selected areas can also expect reduced supply due to maintenance schedules.

Both concessionaires said the interruptions are necessary to detect leaks, repair aging infrastructure, and ensure stable supply in the long run. Most cuts are scheduled during late night to early morning hours to minimize disruption.

Affected customers are advised to store enough water for the duration of the interruption. Full restoration of service typically takes 12-16 hours after maintenance work is completed, depending on the area's elevation and distance from the main supply lines.
