Heads Up, Ladies: PSA Is Giving Free Birth and Marriage Certificates This March
If you're a woman in Metro Manila and you've been putting off getting your birth or marriage certificate, March is literally your month. The Philippine Statistics Authority just announced they're offering free copies to all female clients every Monday this March — in celebration of National Women's Month.
The freebies will be available at select Civil Registry System (CRS) outlets across NCR. All you need to bring is one valid ID when you transact. Simple lang, no complicated requirements.
There's a catch though — the free certificates are limited and subject to the discretion of each CRS outlet. So it's first come, first served talaga. If you need one, don't wait until the last Monday of the month.
On top of that, PSA will also hold a civil registration and national ID caravan on March 27 at Barangay Kaybanban in San Jose del Monte, Bulacan. Services there will include free national ID registration, validation, and consultation for other queries.
This is one of those government initiatives that's actually useful and straightforward. Women who need official documents for job applications, school enrollments, or legal matters should definitely take advantage while it lasts.
