Gee Canlas Opens Up About Leaving Archie Alemania: 'I Was the One Who Left the Marriage'
Actress Gee Canlas has confirmed what many have been speculating about — she and husband Archie Alemania have separated, and she was the one who chose to walk away. The revelation came during her emotional guesting on "Fast Talk with Boy Abunda" this Tuesday.
"That was not a decision I took lightly," Gee told Tito Boy. "It's not something na parang on a whim ginawa na lang. I made sure that I was at a point in my life na I was weighing what matters most." She made it clear that the separation was not mutual — "I left. I was the one who left the marriage," she said firmly.
Gee also clarified na hindi ang acts of lasciviousness case na sinampahan ni Rita Daniela laban kay Archie ang main reason ng kanilang hiwalayan. Instead, she described it as an accumulation of issues over time. "It's not a black and white, one plus one kind of situation. Overtime, nag-accumulate 'yung mga bagay bagay," she explained.
The actress admitted she regrets not leaving sooner. "I should have listened to myself na parang feeling ko nauubos na. I'm a very colorful person, a very goofy person — over the years parang nawala," she shared. Despite the pain, Gee said annulment is not on her mind right now; her priority is providing a stable environment for their son Caleb.
When asked if she felt anger, Gee said it was more sadness than rage. "Hindi mo 'to pinaplano... To me, you get married, you have kids, parang okay na. But I'm in the process now of accepting what is." Currently, Gee is channeling her energy into her career — she's part of the GMA Afternoon Prime series "House of Lies" alongside Beauty Gonzalez, Kris Bernal, Mike Tan, and Martin Del Rosario.
