Finally Graduate: Epy Quizon Closes a 30-Year Promise to Himself

Actor-director Epy Quizon just hit a deeply personal milestone, graduating from De La Salle University and finally fulfilling a promise he made to himself three decades ago.

In his Instagram post, Epy said he had been only a thesis away from finishing in 1996, but fear and difficult life circumstances pulled him away from school. Survival, as he put it, became more important than ceremony at the time.

Even with work, responsibility, and loss along the way, he said the goal never fully left him. The graduation became more than an academic achievement — isa itong tahimik na pangako that stayed alive in the background for 30 years.

Epy also reflected on the emotional family side of the moment. He shared that his late father Dolphy was not able to witness the day, while his mother, who is turning 80 soon, will get to see him finish what he started.

In a separate message, he described the diploma as proof of perseverance, integrity, and second chances. He also thanked De La Salle University, his soulmate, and God, framing the achievement as a reminder that it is never too late to go back, rise again, and complete a long-delayed dream.
