Epy Quizon Finally Graduates from La Salle — 30 Years After He First Walked Those Halls
In 1996, a young Epy Quizon was just one thesis away from graduating from De La Salle University. Life had other plans. Fear, financial struggles, and the demands of survival pulled him away from school, and that diploma became a distant dream. Fast forward 30 years, and the actor-director has finally crossed that stage — toga, diploma, and all.
Epy shared the emotional milestone on Instagram with a message written to his younger self. "Fear and circumstance pulled you away, and survival became more important than ceremony," he wrote. "But you made a promise. Through work, loss, responsibility, and time, that promise stayed quietly in your heart."
The most emotional part? His late father, the legendary comedian Dolphy, never got to see this day. "Dad didn't get to see this day. Mama, turning 80 soon, will," Epy wrote. He dedicated the achievement to Dolphy's memory and to his mother Alice, calling the diploma a gift of completion for her. He also said it proves to his children that "a vow, no matter how delayed, is sacred."
In a separate post, Epy got even deeper: "This diploma is more than paper. It is integrity made visible. It is endurance framed on a wall. It is the legacy you leave your children — that it is never too late to finish what you start, never too late to rise again." He also thanked his "soulmate" for believing in him even when he doubted himself.
Even while working toward his degree, Epy never stopped hustling in showbiz — he recently starred in GMA Prime hits Pulang Araw and Black Rider. The man really said "why choose?" and did both. Major salute to perseverance. 🎓
