EDSA@40 Meets Anti-Corruption Rage: Trillion Peso March Part 3 Set for February 25 With Ben&Ben Concert
The 40th anniversary of the EDSA People Power Revolution is shaping up to be more than just a commemoration — it’s going to be a massive day of protest. The Trillion Peso March Part 3 is set for February 25, Wednesday, at the People Power Monument along EDSA, with organizers expecting a whole-day program that combines prayer, protest, and even a free Ben&Ben concert.
The march’s theme says it all: “Tayo ang People Power Laban sa Korapsyon at Dinastiya!” Among the demands are the prosecution of flood control scandal perpetrators, passage of the Anti-Dynasty Law, recovery of ill-gotten wealth from all plunderers, and justice for victims of extrajudicial killings under the Duterte administration.
The day kicks off at 7 AM with assembly at the EDSA Shrine, followed by an opening program at 8:30 AM with civil society, religious, and political leaders. A prayer march to the People Power Monument begins at 9 AM, with a “Panata ng Mamamayan” at 10 AM. The main program runs from 3 PM, followed by a 6 PM Holy Mass presided by Archbishop Soc Villegas at the EDSA Shrine.
To cap the night, Caritas Philippines is launching YSpeak 2.0 at Eton Centris with gates opening at 7 PM and a free outdoor concert featuring Ben&Ben and other artists starting at 8 PM. Ateneo de Manila University and De La Salle Schools have already suspended classes on February 25 so students, faculty, and staff can join.
The movement isn’t limited to Metro Manila. Nationwide commemorations will be held across 86 Catholic dioceses from February 22 to 25. The BAPP (Buhay Ang People Power) and Siklab (Simbahan at Komunidad laban sa Katiwalian) networks have signed agreements with the Quezon City government to ensure a smooth and peaceful event.
