Kiray Celis is done being ashamed. The actress-turned-entrepreneur fired back at critics who look down on her shift to online selling, revealing that her business has been far more financially rewarding than years of acting ever were. 'May nag-comment nang naglilive ako — sabi yuck online seller na lang,' she shared at a recent Thanksgiving event for Purple Hearts.
But Celis isn't backing down. She laid out the math: 'Hindi ko kaya bumili ng gamit kahit mag-taping ng matagal. Di ko kaya Land Cruiser, ng van sa mama ko, di ko kaya. Ang dami di ko kaya kung taping lang,' she explained. 'Lahat ito online lang kaya hindi siya lang, hindi siya yuck, at di siya nakakadiri.'
The financial transformation has been real. Celis now shoulders the education of all her nieces and nephews — something she couldn't do before. 'Ngayon ako na nagpapaaral sa mga pamangkin ko lahat, dati baon baon lang. Dahil sa online lang na sinasabi nila,' she shared gratefully.
She admits her showbiz fame helped build trust with customers. 'Mas madali magbenta kasi ako si Kiray na artista,' she said honestly. While she remains open to acting projects, she only accepts them when her schedule allows full focus. For now, her priority is expanding Kiray Brands with husband Stephan Estopia, who manages operations behind the scenes.
Kiray's story is becoming increasingly common in Philippine showbiz — celebrities discovering that entrepreneurship and social media can provide more financial stability than traditional entertainment work. And she's proud of every peso.
