While oil prices keep climbing thanks to the Middle East crisis, the Pangilinan family just did something unexpected — they're voluntarily cutting diesel prices at their own gas station.

Businessman and motivational speaker Anthony Pangilinan announced on Monday that their family-run Shell station in South Forbes, Silang, Cavite will slash P3 per liter off regular diesel prices starting March 17. His son, Kapamilya star Donny Pangilinan, has been actively involved in the family business and backs the move.

"We want to support those who need it most in the community," Anthony wrote in his announcement. The Pangilinans are essentially absorbing part of the rising fuel costs themselves — a move that immediately drew praise from the public. Comments like "Sana lahat ganito" flooded social media.

The gesture comes at a time when fuel prices have been on an aggressive upward trend, with the government scrambling to pass emergency measures including a potential suspension of fuel excise taxes. For the average motorist in Cavite, that P3-per-liter discount translates to real savings — especially for jeepney drivers and delivery riders who burn through diesel daily.

It's not every day you see a celebrity family literally put their money where their mouth is. Whether it's a business move or genuine malasakit, commuters in the area aren't complaining — they're lining up.
