DenJen Goes All In for Autism Awareness, Brings a Special Day for Families

Jennylyn Mercado and Dennis Trillo used their celebrity platform for something more meaningful this week, organizing a special event that aimed to bring joy to people on the autism spectrum while also raising public awareness.

The couple said the goal was simple but important: make families feel seen and supported, and help more people understand autism better. Jennylyn said they were happy to share a fun experience with the participants and hopefully open more minds about a condition many Filipinos still do not fully understand.

Dennis added a message for parents and guardians, urging them not to lose hope and not to give up, because children on the spectrum need strong and steady support from family. Tagos din ang point niya — awareness matters, pero day-to-day support matters even more.

Making the event extra personal was the presence of Jennylyn’s son Alex Jazz. Actress Mika Salamanca also joined the activity and promoted her book “Lipad,” which she said can resonate with readers regardless of age, gender, or background.

Now that their recent primetime project has wrapped, Jennylyn said she and Dennis have been spending more time with their children, especially during family stays in Tanay.
