A delivery van smashed through the gate and into a house on K-6th Street in Kamias, Quezon City on Wednesday afternoon, in one of the most bizarre traffic incidents you'll read about today. The kicker? The delivery assistant behind the wheel apparently thought he was walking into his bedroom.

According to a report by Glen Juego on Super Radyo dzBB, the delivery assistant started the vehicle and drove it despite not actually knowing how to drive. Barangay officials, however, believe the real explanation is simpler — the guy was drunk. When confronted by reporters, the wounded assistant insisted he thought he was entering his bedroom. Emergency responders had to douse him with water just to bring him back to his senses.

The delivery van didn't just hit one target — it swerved sideways, clipping another vehicle and damaging the gate of a neighboring house before finally coming to rest inside the property on K-6th Street. Barangay officials and Quezon City government rescuers were trying to tow the delivery van out as of the last report.

Miraculously, walang nasaktan sa loob ng bahay where the van crashed through. The only injury reported was to the delivery assistant himself, who sustained wounds during the incident. Residents in the area were understandably shaken, with some capturing the aftermath on video.

The incident serves as a reminder of the dangers of unauthorized and impaired driving — especially in residential areas. Whether it was alcohol, confusion, or both, letting someone who doesn't know how to drive operate a vehicle is a recipe for disaster. The delivery company has not yet issued a statement.
