Court Freezes Quiboloy's Bank Accounts, 37 Properties, and Even a Cessna Plane — Assets Now Under Government Watch
A Makati court has slapped an Asset Preservation Order on Kingdom of Jesus Christ (KOJC) founder Pastor Apollo Quiboloy, freezing 12 bank accounts, 37 real properties, and 25 vehicles — including two firetrucks, a fuel tanker, and a Cessna aircraft. The assets are now under the court's jurisdiction and cannot be moved, sold, or hidden.
The 12-page order from Makati Regional Trial Court Branch 147 found probable cause to preserve the assets of both Quiboloy and the Executive Pastor of the KOJC (TEP-KOJC). The court warned that without the order, there was "imminent certainty" the properties would be "removed, transferred, concealed or disposed of beyond the reach of law."
Quiboloy's camp presented witnesses who claimed the assets came from tithes and love offerings, but the court wasn't convinced. "It has not been properly established that respondent TEP-KOJC has an independent and legitimate source of income," the ruling stated. Hindi bumenta ang explanation.
The Asset Preservation Order is a provisional remedy used in money laundering cases — it preserves assets during civil forfeiture proceedings but is not the actual forfeiture itself. Think of it as hitting the pause button on Quiboloy's financial empire while the courts sort things out.
Quiboloy faces serious charges including conspiracy to engage in sex trafficking by force, fraud and coercion, sex trafficking of children, and bulk cash smuggling. With his assets now frozen and his legal troubles mounting on both Philippine and international fronts, the self-proclaimed "Appointed Son of God" finds his earthly kingdom increasingly under siege.
