Christian Bautista got candid about the less glamorous side of performing, admitting that he has dealt with stage anxiety, self-doubt, and even burnout despite spending more than two decades in the industry. The singer said that even with long experience, there are still days when a performance can feel uncertain or emotionally heavy.

Before going onstage, Christian said he has a personal ritual: he peeks at the audience, practices, says a prayer, and drinks water. That quiet routine helps him feel connected early and reduces surprises before the actual performance begins.

When anxiety hits, he said he leans on rest, prayer, good food, and support from the people closest to him—including wife Kat Ramnani, friends, and mentors. He also reminds himself of the blessings and lessons he has collected through the years, which helps steady him when doubt starts creeping in.

Christian also showed support for Regine Velasquez, who previously spoke about her own struggles with performance anxiety. For him, even established artists go through bad days, and that reality should not erase what they have already contributed to the music industry.

The singer said there were years that felt like burnout, but he keeps moving as long as he still believes in himself, his fans remain there, and opportunities to create music continue to come. Kasabay nito, he is pushing forward with his new single “Sa’yo Lamang,” which he described as matching where he is now both musically and emotionally.
