Brownout Alert: Meralco Announces Power Interruptions in QC, Caloocan, Taguig, and Bulacan This Week
Heads up, Metro Manila and Bulacan residents — Meralco has announced scheduled power interruptions this week due to maintenance works. Multiple areas across Quezon City, Caloocan, Taguig, and several towns in Bulacan will be affected between February 23 and 28. Better charge your phones and prep your flashlights.
In Quezon City, parts of Jordan Plains Subdivision in Barangay Sta. Monica, Novaliches will have no electricity on February 23-24 between 11:30 PM and 4:30 AM. The interruption is due to the replacement of electricity poles and line reconductoring works along Moses Street. Not the best timing for a Monday night.
Caloocan City gets hit next. Some locations in Midway Park Subdivision and Amparo Subdivision in Tala will lose power on February 27-28 between 11 PM and 4 AM. This one's caused by the upgrading of electricity facilities affected by San Miguel Corporation's MRT-7 project along Quirino Highway — at least there's infrastructure progress behind the inconvenience.
Taguig residents in Barangay South Signal Village should prepare for a morning outage on February 28 from 8:30 AM to 11:30 AM for pole replacement and reconductoring works. Meanwhile in Bulacan, several barangays in San Rafael, San Ildefonso, and Bustos will experience outages between February 24-27 due to line reconstruction along Maharlika Highway and other areas.
Meralco advised affected residents to treat all electrical wires as live during the maintenance period for safety. While the outages are mostly during late-night hours — which is considerate — the daytime Taguig cut and multiple Bulacan interruptions will be felt. Mag-charge na kayo ng powerbank at mag-stock ng tubig! ⚡
