The field is now official: 36 candidates were introduced for Binibining Pilipinas 2026 during a special presentation held at the New Frontier Theater in Araneta City on March 23. That sets the stage for another big pageant season, with the winners eventually carrying the Philippine flag in international competitions.
Leading this year’s selection panel was Miss International 2005 Precious Lara Quigaman Alvarez. She was joined by Bb. Pilipinas International 2025 Katrina Anne Johnson, Bb. Pilipinas International 2024 Myrna Esguerra, and Bb. Pilipinas Globe 2025 Annabelle Mae McDonnell.
Lara said the selection process was not just about looks. Her focus, she explained, was hearing each candidate’s “why” — their reasons for joining, their stories, and the purpose they bring into the competition. In short, hindi lang face card ang tinitingnan kundi substance din.
She added that the ideal winner should embody the Binibining Pilipinas standard: beauty, intellect, purpose, and integrity. Lara also said she hopes to return for the coronation later this year even though she is currently based in Canada as a teacher and plans to fly back there after her current commitments.
For the candidates, her advice was simple: have fun, stay authentic, and give their best. With the final 36 now unveiled, the contest officially moves into battle mode as these women compete for the titles and the chance to represent the country on the global pageant stage.
