Bea Alonzo Is Back — Kapuso Star Returns to TV After Break With New Series 'Whispers From Heaven'
After stepping away from the spotlight to focus on her personal life and business ventures, Bea Alonzo is officially making her TV comeback. The Kapuso actress will star in the upcoming series "Whispers From Heaven," which also marks her 25th anniversary in the entertainment industry — and she wants this project to mean something special.
"Parang na-realize ko na this should be bigger than me as Bea, as an actress. Kailangan of service na dun sa mga taong sumuporta sa akin," she shared, adding that she feels the project is very timely and that she's grateful GMA is producing it. The series will also feature Tom Rodriguez, Cassy Legaspi, Maricar Reyes, and more.
Bea previously starred in the hit series "Widows' War" alongside Carla Abellana, a spinoff of the popular murder-mystery franchise that included "Royal Blood" and "Widow's Web." Since that project wrapped, she took time off to explore other interests and build a foundation outside of acting — something she said she'd always wanted but never had the chance to do.
"There are many things na — may mga simple joys na na-miss ko," Bea reflected. "When you're in the public eye, parang you tend to see yung mga big things lang, big gestures. Nakalimutan ko i-enjoy yung simple joys." She described the break as a period of self-discovery, learning what truly brings her happiness after 25 years of non-stop work in showbiz.
As for her relationship with boyfriend Vincent Co, Bea kept things private, saying she wants to protect someone who isn't from the entertainment world. Fans are just happy she's back — and with a project that sounds like it'll be worth the wait.
