Anton Vinzon is entering a new chapter in his career as he takes on his first solo lead role in the upcoming Kapuso boxing drama series Kamao. For the young actor, the project is a big career jump and one he says he is taking with full focus and gratitude.

According to GMA Integrated News, Anton will share the series with his father, veteran action star Roi Vinzon. In a fun twist, Roi will play Anton's grandfather in the show, giving the family team-up an extra layer of on-screen chemistry and sentimental value.

Anton said he has been training seriously for the role, especially in boxing, and even worked with his father as part of his preparation. He also said he researched the sport carefully to better understand the mindset and discipline needed for the character.

The actor described his role in Kamao as more mature and more grounded than his lighter, comedic work in Mga Batang Riles. This time, he plays someone more determined and deeply tied to family and personal ambition, so medyo ibang timpla talaga ang mapapanood ng fans.

Aside from Anton and Roi, the series will also feature Katrina Halili, Bruce Roeland, Amy Austria, Neil Ryan Sese, Wendell Ramos, Tito Marsy, and Tito Abdul. Katrina said she connected strongly with her own role as a mother, especially because the show leans heavily into family drama.
