19-Year-Old Maritime Student Brutally Hazed to Death in Cavite — Suspect Surrenders
A 19-year-old freshman maritime student named Kenneth Alcedo was found dead after what authorities believe was a brutal hazing by a fraternity at PNTC Colleges in Dasmariñas, Cavite. The driver of the car that dumped his body at a hospital has since surrendered to police.
Last Sunday, a gray sedan brought the unconscious Kenneth to a hospital in Dasmariñas. The three men inside claimed he was a hit-and-run victim, but CCTV footage showed them trying to flee after dropping him off. Medical staff performed CPR, but Kenneth was already dead on arrival. His body told a horrific story — both thighs had turned completely black from severe beatings, his hands were crushed with pliers, and chili seeds were placed on his private parts and anus.
"His hands were crushed with pliers, and there were so many bruises on his back — his thighs, especially at the back, were truly swollen and purple," Kenneth's devastated father Jun Alcedo recounted. The young man had dreamed of becoming a seaman to help his family, and had told his parents he was just going on an outing that fateful Sunday morning.
According to Cavite Police Provincial Director P/Colonel Ariel Red, authorities tracked the car — which was found abandoned three barangays from the hospital — through a chain of previous owners until they identified the driver. School IDs and fraternity uniforms were recovered from the vehicle. Police believe more suspects are involved and could face charges under the anti-hazing law, which carries lifetime imprisonment.
"The ones who did that aren't human — they're demons," Kenneth's father said. "There was no 'brotherhood' there because what happened wasn't just hazing — it seems like there was an intent to kill, because it was pure torture." School officials say they are cooperating with the investigation and vow to hold those responsible accountable.
