Nag-debut si Suzy bilang miyembro ng K-pop girl group na miss A noong 2010; at disbanded ito noong 2017. Pero isa si Suzy sa maituturing indemand na leading actress sa mga k-drama .
From being a K-pop idol, matagumpay talaga siyang nakatawid sa pag-arte.
Sa naging interview ni Suzy, naikuwento niya ang kanyang ginagampanang character bilang si Lee Doona at kung paano rin naalala raw niya ang sarili niya noon.
Kung dati raw, parang pakiramdam niya, ang entertainment career lang niya ang meron siya, ngayon daw, anytime, puwede niya itong talikuran.
“Like ‘Lee Doo-na’, I used to think my entertainment career was all I had. But I don’t think that way anymore. Now, I think that any project I work on could be the last one and that I can always walk away from the industry. That way of thinking makes me try my best,” sey niya.
Si Lee Doo-na’, formerly of the successful K-pop girl group ‘DREAM SWEET’, ay tinalikuran din ang showbusiness pagkatapos na maranasan ang mga series of negative issues, involvements. Kabilang na ang relasyon niya sa mga co-member at mga sexual harassing comment mula sa publiko.
Ayon kay Suzy, “Looking back, I think there was a time when I felt as broken as Lee Doo-na. When I saw her express how she felt when she was hurt, I thought, ‘She is in a better place than I was. I was too busy to feel my pain.’”
Nag-enjoy rin daw si Suzy dahil sa pagiging unconventional ng character na ginagampanan niya kabilang ang pagsasalita ng mga curse words sa drama.
“I’m a person who sometimes has bad days and sometimes gets irritated like everyone else. But I often feel like people refuse to see that side of me because they have this image of me as a cheerful person,” pag-amin niya.
Pero tulad daw ng role niya, “I wish the viewers could accept that ‘Lee Doo-na’, the star, is another human being with a lonely and dark side.” (Rose Garcia)
