Rep. France Castro, a member of the House Deputy Minority Leader at the ACT Teachers group, is supporting the DepEd ang pagtaas ng sahod at g mga guro. Sa deliberationsyon NG panukalang 2024 federal funds nitong Miyerkoles, Agosto 30, nagtanong si.
Gloria Jumamil – Mercado, DepEd Undersecretary, is in a nagging tug of war.
” Yes, Your Honor, we will support the proposal to increase the number of teachers, but it must be supported empirically because there is empirical support for raising those salaries ,” sabi ni Mercado said.
Ayon kay Mercado may isinasagawang pag-aaral ang DepEd katuwang at the Polytechnic University of the Philippines( PUP ) for the purpose of addressing the panukalang dagdag-sahod-ng mga guro.
” The PUP has already started a review, and it will examine the nation’s inflation rate and take advantage of pay rises ,” said Dagdag pa ni Castro.
