MANILA, Philippines — The trough of a low-pressure area (LPA) off Japan will bring rain over extreme northern Luzon, the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (Pagasa) said Friday.
In a weather forecast, Pagasa weather specialist Benison Estareja explained that the trough refers to the LPA’s extension, which is seen to cause rainy conditions over extreme northern Luzon.
He also said that rains will continue over parts of Southern Luzon, Visayas, and Mindanao due to the southwest monsoon, which is locally known as habagat.
