MANILA, Philippines — President Rodrigo Duterte visited Jolo town in Sulu on Sunday to condole with victims of recent twin explosions there that killed several civilians and military and police personnel and injured scores of others, presidential spokesperson Harry Roque said Sunday.

Duterte also met with MayorKerkhar S. Tan, Roque said in a message, Roque added.

“He is expected back in Manila tonight [Sunday night],” he said.

During the online concert “Singing for the President,” which took place earlier in the day, Duterte announced that he was on his way to Jolo to visit the blast site.
