MANILA, Philippines — President Rodrigo Duterte said a total of P4.1 billion under the proposed P4.506-trillion national budget for 2021 will be allocated to fast-track the implementation of the national ID system.

In his budget message to Congress, Duterte said the allocation will help the government “clean up” its registries of beneficiaries of its social protection programs such as the Pantawid Pamilyang Pilipino Program or 4Ps.
