DAGUPAN CITY — The province of Ilocos Sur has closed its doors to locally stranded individuals (LSIs) and returning Filipino workers (RWFs) from August 1 to August 14, following a spike in cases of coronavirus disease (COVID-19) infections in the past days.

Records of the Provincial Health Office show that 31 new patients have tested positive for the disease from July 26-29.

The Ilocos Sur Provincial Hospital – Gabriela Silang suspended its out-patient services due to the sudden surge, although it would continue to respond to emergency cases.
