LIGAO CITY —- The city government of Ligao released cash assistance to very poor families affected by Luzon-wide enhanced community quarantine on Friday.

The cash aid prioritized the indigent families and Barangay Health Emergency Response Team frontliners, Mayor Patricia Gonzalez-Alsua said.

Senior citizens, who are indigent and are not receiving any pension, will also get P500.

“This is our way of giving immediate assistance to affected families. Why cash? Because they can decide what to buy (be it food or medicines) for their family,” Gonzalez-Alsua said in a phone interview.

The P1,000 cash-out is a one-time financial assistance.
