Customs vows prompt release of surgical mask shipments

The Bureau of Customs has promised the prompt release of surgical mask shipments amid the increasing demand for the item out of fear of the spread of coronavirus disease (COVID-19).


The bureau on Friday said it will ensure prompt processing and swift release of shipments containing face/surgical masks to cope with local demand.

“Since the discovery and identification of COVID-19 in January 2020, the bureau has been expediting the process and release of shipments of face/surgical masks necessary in securing the public from the deadly virus,” the Customs bureau said in a statement.
