PH drops 14 notches in 2019 global corruption index

The Philippines’ ranking in the Corruption Perceptions Index (CPI) dropped from 99th in 2018 to 113th in 2019.

Dropping 14 places from 2018, the country also got a score of 34 in a scale wherein 0 is given to the cleanest and 100 is given to the Highly Corrupt countries.

Also getting the same score are Kazakhstan, Nepal, El Salvador, Eswatini and Zambia.

The score of 34 that the country got is two points lower (36) than the one it got in 2018.

This is the lowest score that the country has gotten since 2012. Although the country also got a score of 34 in 2017, its ranking then was 111th.
