Mayor Sara in U.S. for anti-terrorism seminar

While President Rodrigo Duterte threatens to abrogate the Visiting Forces Agreement (VFA) with the United States following the cancellation of Sen. Ronald “Bato” Dela Rosa’s U.S. visa, his daughter, Davao City Mayor Sara Duterte, is in Washington, D.C. attending a leadership training program focused on preventing and countering terrorism.

Mayor Duterte, together with Zamboanga City Mayor Beng Climaco, is the recipient of this year’s International Visitors Leadership Program (IVLP), a one-month premier professional exchange program under the auspices of the U.S. Department of State.

U.S. Assistant Secretary of State for East Asian and Pacific Affairs Ambassador Atul Keshap welcomed both Sara Duterte and Climaco to the U.S. capital.
