11 rescued as motorbanca capsizes off Siquijor

Eleven passengers and crew were rescued by the Philippine Coast Guard (PCG) after their motorbanca they were riding capsized off the waters of Barangay Cangmunag, San Juan, Siquijor on Saturday.

According to PCG, the motorbanca departed from Dipolog City going to Masbate. Aside from the seven passengers and four crew, the boat was also carrying eight drums of diesel and 22 empty fuel drums.

Big waves brought by the heavy weather condition caused the motorbanca to capsize, PCG said.
