House probe sought on proliferation of prostitution dens catering to Chinese POGO workers

A neophyte woman lawmaker is calling on the Lower Chamber to look into the “alarming” proliferation of prostitution dens catering exclusively to Philippine Gaming Offshore Operators (POGO) workers.

Quezon City Rep. Precious Hipolito-Castelo made the call, as the House Committee on Ways initially conducted deliberations on measures to impose a five-percent tax on all offshore gaming companies on gross receipts derived from gaming operations.

“In less than a month, three separate raids were conducted by the National Bureau of Investigation (NBI) on prostitution dens in Metro Manila catering exclusively to Chinese POGO workers, ” she said in filing House Resolution No. 497.
