The government has pledged to hasten the construction of housing units for Yolanda victims to attain target completion next year.

Cabinet Secretary Karlo Nograles said the government will continue to give priority to the interest of the typhoon victims, saying they have “waited long enough.”

Panelo made the statement after the National Housing Authority (NHA) completed the permanent shelter units for the Yolanda victims in Tabuelan, Cebu. The housing project was finished six years after the onslaught of the super typhoon in several parts of Visayas that left thousands of people dead and destroyed many homes.
